Which character do you represent and how does it fit you?

Thanks. I am an actress and a musical singer. The character just fits me because acting is my job and it is my passion. The soul is in the voice and singing is very important for me. When I am singing I feel well. And I also get in a better mood.

How would you describe you and your professional career in some sentences?

Well, the theatre has been important to me all my life long. It started in primary school when I played leading roles in theatre plays and when I also took over singing parts, for instance, the moon in Peter Maffay’s “Tabaluga”. Even today my former classmates are very enthusiastic about this part. When I was a teenager I annually took over the leading roles in adolescence theatre projects in Berlin. The director, I am still working with today, pushed me to make my passion to work. Then I had to pass the qualifying exams for acting: tough exams for your nerves and your soul. One day it worked out. And I finally finished my acting education in Berlin. Then I started shooting smaller parts for television and also acted in theatre. In 2009 I was the princess for the film of fairytale “Rapunzel”. This was a great acting experience. A nice team und it was a really good movie. I would like to shoot more roles like this! Right now I also find my way into voice acting.

What has been your most memorable incident during your career so far?

Back in my school days I had a small, mute part in a theatre play. When the play was finished, a member of the audience came up to me and said: “The play was awful. But it was wonderful how you ate the strawberries in the background. I liked it so much that I couldn’t keep my eyes of you.” I was really proud and touched by this commentary.

What are you most looking forward to in the shooting?

I love being in front of the camera and trying new things. I am looking forward to this work! I am really excited! And I am looking forward to meeting the team and lots of nice, new people!

------------------------- Charlotte Lam ------------------------------------

Liebe Charlotte,

Congratulations on being chosen for our "StagePool Characters" series. Which character do you represent and how does it fit you?

Musical artist: as a musical artist I can present my versatile talents in just one role. Singing and dancing is my great passion, I like being on stage and my colleagues and I really enjoy presenting a good show.
How would you describe you and your professional career in some sentences?

After a four year study in Amsterdam I finished my education as a musical artist. I gathered my first experiences as a revue dancer and singer in the big revue show “Andre’s Nieuwe Revue”. Moreover I’ve worked as singer for smaller productions. I also work as lecturer and choreographer for dancing.

What has been your most memorable incident during your career so far?

One of the greatest memorable incidents in my career so far was the theatre touring in the Netherlands and Belgium. Especially the teamwork and the nice and big theatres were very fascinating, just fantastic!

What are you most looking forward to in the shooting?

I am looking forward to the shooting. At the same time I am very excited about the ideas of the team, the making of, location and of course, the final results of the shooting.

------------------------- Christine Gerstenberger ------------------------------------

Dear Christine,

Which character do you represent?

I am an actress or musical artist like in real life!

How would you describe you and your professional career in some sentences?

Even back in school, I had the dream of being on stage. When I was a teenager I took part in singing projects or I attended several castings and got a role in television once in a while. First time I was confronted with giving autographs, was in a casting show in 2008. Then my colleagues and I were on stage with our own cabaret program. Next to my actress’ training, that I started in 2009, I am also regularly shooting smaller parts for television like commercials. The aim I am working and “fighting” for is just one thing: find my way into HOLLYWOOD :).

What has been your most memorable incident during your career so far?

Being recognised in public and being asked for autographs. Also the sold out cabaret program of my colleagues and me.

What are you most looking forward to in the shooting?

A professional make-up, a nice team and “ramba-zamba” in front of the camera!

More about Christine, you’ll find under www.christine-gerstenberger.de.

------------------------- Brandon Delagraentiss ------------------------------------

Dear Brandon,

Congratulations on being chosen for our "StagePool Characters" series.

Which character do you represent and how does it fit you?

I am a character lead. I enjoy playing different characters, whether they are in a feature or lead role and whether the show involves music or not.

How would you describe you and your professional career in some sentences?

I am an artist. I act, sing, write, direct and do commercial print modeling. I love being a part of the creative process. For me, the work I do is therapeutic. It is my intention to influence every person I meet in a positive way.

What has been your most memorable incident during your career so far?

My most memorable incident so far was forgetting to bring a (prop) gun onstage in a scene that climaxed with pointing the gun. I didn't realize I forgot it until I pulled an empty hand out of my pocket. The scene changed immediately from a dramatic one to a comedic one with me taking a "bad karate kid pose" instead. The audience laughed and we brought the gun out later and saved the story :)

What are you most looking forward to in the shooting?

I am most looking forward to the actual photo shoot. I like taking pictures and I enjoy being in them in a controlled environment.

More about Brandon, you'll find under www.brandondelagraentiss.com.

------------------------- Aviva Joel ------------------------------------

Dear Aviva,

Congratulations on being chosen for our "StagePool Characters" series. Which character do you represent and how does it fit you?

Like in real life, I am the sensible, open-minded, loving and caring woman (role of actress).

How would you describe you and your professional career in some sentences?

I was born in Israel, wanted to start a dancing career, had the chance of going to N.Y. to the Balanchin. However, my mother was an opera singer and knew an artist’s way of life. That’s why I was supposed to get my university entrance diploma first. After school I still had the passion for being on stage and I decided to become an actress.

What has been your most memorable incident during your career so far?

My most memorable incident was shooting in Isreal and acting in my mother tongue, especially after have been acting in foreign languages for years.

What are you most looking forward to in the shooting?

I am looking forward to making new acquaintances and also for the creative work itself.

More about Aviva, you’ll find under www.avivajoel.com.
http://en.stagepool.com/spotlight_on/2691/silvia_vicinelli http://en.stagepool.com/spotlight_on/2691/silvia_vicinelli Silvia Vicinelli Dear Silvia, You already had an amazing and impressive musical-career so far: The female main characters in Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar and Jekyll&Hyde… Mon, 14 Mar 2011 00:00:00 +0100 2011-09-22T09:16:13+02:00 When was the time you knew for sure that you wanted to become a musical actress?

In fact I can tell the time quite precisely. It was when I saw my first musical: “Phantom of the Opera” in Los Angeles. After seeing the musical I felt like "a light went on"... I just knew… At that time I was already actively involved singing in the pop and rock area but something was just missing…

For the last few months you have been working on your own songs, mostly pop and rock. Was it enough musical for you now? Do you need something else?

No, you can’t really say that. After so many years on musical stages I just had the feeling that I needed a new way of expressing myself musically and my songs developed out of that need.. It´s like they came “by themselves”. One day, I sat down at the piano and suddenly started writing songs… It felt as if my own songs finally “wanted out”!

Nevertheless I am sure that I´ll be on a musical stage again, some day. You definitely can combine both things. I think in Germany people think too much in categories: either you are an opera-singer or a musical-singer or a pop-singer. Personally, I rather share the way American people see it. In the US you are just a SINGER working in different “areas” of the music business.

Versatility is not only welcome but crucial to build a career in the US. There are enough examples of Hollywood stars that all of the sudden play on Broadway or popstars singing in a musical-movie (recent example: Beyoncée Knowles in “Dreamgirls”).

Where do you receive your inspiration for you own songs? Do you work at home or rather in professional studios? Do you have all the equipment at home?

Yes, I mostly write my songs at the piano, at home. I take my inspiration from my own life and experiences, thoughts and feelings. As I said before I almost never “plan” to write a song. It´s more like the song “comes to me“. Sometimes I just feel the impulse to go to the piano and write. I own a home-studio together with my wonderful producer, pianist and co-writer Martin Morgenstern and we record nearly all of the songs there.

How did you discover Ubetoo.com? Would you describe it for those who do not know it?

I found Ubetoo.com on Stagepool. Ubetoo offers singers who write their own songs the possibility of earning money without having a contract with a record company. Of course, through Ubetoo, songwriters get also the chance to share their music with a bigger audience and to build a larger fan-base. I think the idea is brilliant. There is way too much great music that has not been signed yet and therefore doesn’t really get the chance of being heard by a large audience. It has become very hard to get record companies interested. This new development through the internet forces labels to change their old fashioned systems and adjust to the new situation. I think it´s great!

What do you like about Ubetoo.com? How do you work with this platform?

I like the „chart“-character. That in combination with the comments of the audience makes it possible for me to see exactly which songs the listeners like the most and why. This is very important because as a songwriter you´re rarely able to keep enough distance to your own songs to evaluate their real potential.

In how far became Ubetoo.com a help for your career as a songwriter?

I think the most important thing until now was, as I said, the feedback. If you decide to start a career as singer/songwriter, there is nothing more important than knowing that the audience wants to listen to your music!!!

It really helps and gives you the drive to go on.

If you could decide how your career will go on the next months, what would you wish for yourself?

At present, my greatest wish is to release my music in the form of an album and reach the biggest audience possible, so that sooner or later everyone will “have no choice“ but to sing along to my songs… :)

Thank you so much for answering our questions! We wish you the best and much success on Ubetoo….

Your StagePool-Team http://en.stagepool.com/spotlight_on/2388/stefany_dreyer http://en.stagepool.com/spotlight_on/2388/stefany_dreyer Stefany Dreyer Dear Stefany, you have already done quite many very successful productions – on stage and in front of the camera. Finally you became one of the four official band members of „Banaroo“. Fri, 24 Oct 2008 00:00:00 +0200 2011-09-22T09:16:12+02:00 We would be really interested in having you talking about all of this...

First of all, very unusual for an actress/singer, you got a classical cello-education. Why did you decide to do so? And how far was this helpful for your future career?

- I wanted to learn to play the drums originally but my dad thought that this was too loud. So my decision was to learn to play the cello. I was wanting it for a whole year. After I started to get my lessons there was so much improvement that I was invited to play in the chamber orchestra of my local music school. I stayed there. When I was 14 I bought my own cello from the money I got for my confirmation. My mother helped me financially as well. Still it was not that kind of education that helped and formed my future. The classical education is only an informative and a rough guideline. My path was built on the practical experiences I made and it just went its way. Also I just followed my intuition. It is never to late to start something new or to learn something new.... That is why I have been taking drum lessons for the last three weeks... laughing

You participated in famous TV-productions such as the German ARD-production „Die Kommissarin“ with Hannelore Elsner and especially the German Pro 7 production „18 – Allein unter Mädchen“ as the main character „Catharina“. How did this phantastic role happen? What kind of experiences did you make through those TV shows?

- That was really funny. My acting coach told me to do castings during my second year of classes. He already got one for me as well. I agreed and until the „final-re-call“ I was really convinced to try out for a little role for some kind of commercial. When I got the call that I would be the main character „Catharina“ in the Pro 7 production „18...“ I was just crying and screaming and my coach Peter Kock was really happy for me.
The role with Hannelore just happened like this since I got to know her by accident on a party and she just asked me whether I would like to play on TV.
Well in that time I made a lot of experiences, some were positive, some were negative ones.
My boyfriend back then could not accept the changes I made through the role of Catharina. There were always fights. There were 52 days on the set and I had to play a very shy introvert girl. The thing was that I just could not stop that when I was at home. I had to learn to differentiate between job and home.
And then there were those kind of colleagues who thought that they had understood the art of acting and who had to emphasize thisall the time... The positive thing was the whole atmosphere. All the things that came along. The team and working on one character for a longer time period. A lot of times I sat with the technician guys at the end of a day and heard how they experienced the day. A lot more interesting than the whole acting-gibberish... ;-)

After the TV productions there was a very special project with the name „Ich brülle vor Lachen inmitten allerheftigstem Leids“ („I cry out laughing during the hardest suffering“). Screenplay and directing both from you. Tell us about this time. Was that a big dream that came true for you?

- Yes, that piece was all done by myself as a final work (diploma). But when I started to write the first monologes I had some thoughts of „why don't you do your own little thing“? I developed the concept and four weeks later it was written on paper. I practiced with my pianist and we rehearsed for about two weeks. Then it was ready – more or less. We were able to go on stage with it. I like it if not every single minute of the plays is rehearsed and practised, if there is some room for improvisation. That just gives me the real „kick“. And then it was just the „innocent“ flair that made the play so special. I got a prize from my university and still today they ask me about it. I plan on performing it again next year....

And again a change of genre: The main part of the musical „Cabaret“ in Berlin. How did you come into the musical business? Was it a new challenge for you to combine acting with singing? What did you learn from this time for yourself?

- No, not at all. I love the challenge. And I have a singing and dancing education. I was even asked to perform Sally Bowles (Cabaret) again in Berlin („Bar jeder Vernunft“) starting from november 2, 2007 and I am really looking forward to it....

Now a new climax: The band project „Banaroo“ from SuperRTL which just ended recently. You were one of the four band members of Banaroo, one of the most successful bands in Germany. The band even received two nominations for the German Echo-prize. How did you come into the band? What was your life like as a band member?

- Yes it just happened like this: I had enough of Berlin and after my diploma from my university I wanted to do something else. I played Sally Bowles in Berlin as an understudy. At the same time I performed with a rock band. From my keyboarder I got the tip about SuperRTL and then one lead to the other.
With our first single we had our breakout. During the next two and a half years we received 2x Platin, 4x Gold, 2x nominations for the Echo and 1x nomination for the Comet prize. We had even success in countries like Australia, Lithuania, Poland, Canada etc. Our last single was the summer hit on the Faroeser Islands (between Estland and Norway). We performed everywhere. But now after almost three years it is time for us all to start something new. So we had our last performance on September 2, 2007.
I can not stay with one project for more than two or three years. At one time there is an inner clock that tells me to go and find something new...

You received two jobs through StagePool already. What kind of projects were they? And how do you like StagePool's concept? Will you still use it for your future job search?

- Yes – thanks to StagePool – I participated a couple times on Musicalgalas and film productions. I like your concept since I would not have had heard of some jobs through my agency if it was not because of StagePool.

Thank you very much for this – very personal – interview! We wish you the best on you future path!! http://en.stagepool.com/spotlight_on/2290/fabrizio_levita http://en.stagepool.com/spotlight_on/2290/fabrizio_levita Fabrizio Levita Well Fabrizio – your career until now was amazing… we are curious and would like to ask you a couple questions… Fri, 24 Oct 2008 00:00:00 +0200 2011-09-22T09:16:25+02:00 How did everything start? Apparently you sang in public when you were only a child… Did you have a special role model back then?

- When I was a child I already noticed that I loved nothing more than listening to music and to sing along with it – and since my fellow people did not run away I carried on singing – one of my ideals is George Michael, whose qualities as a songwriter and as a singer are unexampled. He inspired me musically in many different ways…

Then in 2003 the POPSTARS season on a famous German TV-channel. Which were your motives for your application? What did you feel during the time of the castings and each of the shows? Did you learn a lot or was there a lot of farce as well?

- In this time I had recorded a lot of demos, many studios called me the fastest jinglesinger of Hessen, only the record-industry did not really want to notice me – so I chose the castingway. I learned and profited much, of course what one sees on TV is only a little mosaic-part of what happened really in the camp. But: I was able to took a lot of dancing skills from there, as a singer I rather had to withhold. There were sayings such as: You are in a band now, you have to hold yourself back when singing which I, as a bullhead, did not really want to hear at that time… Many things were just “made”, the format functions after a certain principle. There is good and bad and those parts are distributed. But I was able to forge contacts in this time and as I said, I learned quite a lot.

You did not make it into the band at the end but you were a finalist and you got your own recording contract. What did you feel then? What meant the recording contract to you – would you have succeeded without it as well?

- I was in the band for three weeks – and I am sure that without this show I would not have gotten a solo-deal – at least not so quickly. It is just the biggest thing if you have dreamed already as a small boy to perform a self composed song on tv – and then it becomes true!
The major-deal did in fact not really become what I expected it to be – if you do not have the whole company until the very highest management-level on your side a major-deal will not be useful at all. You only recognize the whole system after having stayed in there and after having learned to walk in there – and to fall as well. So I think that Indie-Labels, whose members are putting their hearts into every act – can have much more advantages – which I am enjoying at the moment.

You took part in a casting-show from the beginning to the end. Should young artists use a chance like that or would you rather discourage them?

- On that topic I could philosophize the whole evening, even more, write a whole book on it: it CAN be a spring board - but for me a “raising” in short time excludes a long-term career.
Especially since the viewer outside only watches the show for the format – he does not care who finally wins, even less he cares what happens with the winner afterwards.
The best current example: Monrose (Senna sang background for me three years ago) have not even started their tour and the work for the sixth season for Popstars already began…
You really have to be conscious of the fact that all of this is not about you, not about the question who the winner of the season will be, but that all of this is just entertainment on TV for the viewers.
Since then a lot has happened… You have recorded many CDs, i.a. with the No Angels, you have had many international performances and many singles have been released.

Tell us about this time. Which projects do you like to remember the most?

- I loved for example to sit on the grand piano for the video recording of “Do they know it’s Christmas”, to accompany the No Angels and to joke around with them – or to compose the song „Hope“ with many other artists for the Tsunami-victims which returns we sent to Sri Lanka to accomplish a tiny part of the recovery work – or lastly the many live-performances in front of thousands of people, on summer-open airs or the interviews that I had as a T-Mobile-reporter on the TV-music-channel “recorder” with the Guano Apes or with Jimmy Tenor.

Thanks to StagePool you have received two great jobs. What kind of jobs were those and how did you get them?

- First there was a casting for a 12 cities Europe-Roadshow for a jewellery-company, a musically time travel. They were looking for a singer with a huge repertoire – I had a regular audition (I like to say that the whole life is a casting) and I got the jobs after three days. It was a nice experience with many professional dancers and singers. It was nice to perform on stage and to present the show – even in my home country Italy.
Then I had an audition for an a-capella band “yeomen”. The result was that we worked closely and that we feature each other live on stage – for example we did that successfully in Berlin (May 29, 2007) or in Braunschweig (June 15, 2007).

In how far is StagePool helpful when looking for a job – even for a very successful artist?

- Well, I do know one or two in this business but you can never know everybody – and to close this gap it is awesome to use StagePool!
Ironically I have been a StagePool member for two years now – in the first year there was barely a job for me – in this year it looks really good for me. So the motto “to keep on it” relates to StagePool as well!

Do you still have a private life despite so much stress? If you have a minute for yourself, what do you love doing the most?

- Well indeed there is not that much private life. If there is a minute I like to relax with wellness or I go out to eat, to the movies, meet with friends and do some sports.

What is going to happen now? Which projects are planned? And what are you looking for the most?

- The most exciting project at the moment is to work on my solo-album with a famous label in Frankfurt – it will not be published until 2008 since we want the songs to grow. And the fact that I met the Caster of the Friedrichstadtpalast in Berlin by chance (even this is indirectly thanks to StagePool!) is just amazing: after two auditions I will now play the main part for the next season (September 20 – November 7, 2007) in the play „Rhythm Berlin“, which makes me really happy.
Of course I still have many live-acts, with and without the band, I write songs for myself and other artists (for example I have written an Italian text for Nevio, whose album just got GOLD) and I will let myself be surprised about what the future will bring.

THX 2 STAGEPOOL & and keep on going like this! :)
http://en.stagepool.com/spotlight_on/2244/brigitte_breternitz http://en.stagepool.com/spotlight_on/2244/brigitte_breternitz Brigitte Breternitz Brigitte Breternitz, choreographer and dancer from Cologne, is now able to realize her greatest dream… Fri, 24 Oct 2008 00:00:00 +0200 2011-09-22T09:16:12+02:00 After years of hard work she is going to open her own school of dancing, acting and music in Cologne on July 1st 2007.

How long have you been dreaming this dream for? Why is it so important for you?

- I always had this dream... But one day I just thought that this does not have to remain a dream… I can do something about it! And I started to write a concept and during the next few years different ideas were developed and became clearer. The result is a really good and especially a new kind of artist-school-system. I believe that this will be something new and something fresh for our scene…

When did the concrete planning begin? A project like this needs intensive support from familiy, friends, partners, banks… How did you manage this?

- About one and a half years ago I met Meike Schlegel. It is because of her unbelievable organizational talents that our common founded agency PAKAMELE Productions and the belonging talent-supporting-project Hot Per Suit were such a success last year. Right at the beginning Meike was convinced by the idea of MADCITY and so we started to work out our aims. We are a super team and that is the most important for me… Of course I also have awesome friends and an amazing family who are all supporting me as much as they can. The bank and many helping hands believed in our concept and invested in it… And thanks to their trust and to our motivation the opening will be next month already!

Were there already big problems you had to face?

- Just the regular madness. But it is really exciting!

What is so special about your school?

- Well, the first thing that is really special about it, is our flatrate. That means that our members are able to work out as much as they like for the same prize. Secondly we have really “good” coaches because of my long experience in the professional and amateur area. They are all interesting for professionals as well as for beginners. So I’d say that the niveau is special! Well.. and I love my job!

When will you open?

- Sunday, July 1st, there will be an opening workshop. The coaches will be: Marvin A. Smith, Eva Nitsch, David Hernandez and Camillo Lauricella – all good people from the German show “So you think you can dance…”. The workshop, the party and the show at night altogether will cost 29,90 Euro – that is one month rate for the school! The party at night is open to anybody and I hope that we will have a good start with it. In July there will be a special program in the form of project weeks. Every week there will be one piece rehearsed and the show will be on Saturday. Just like professionals… The style of the pieces will change weekly. On July 2nd there will start the fixed courses at the evenings at 8.30 pm to have a look at the coaches – but members are able to use anything for free… In August our regular schedule will start which is divided into different age groups. There will be open classes, professional classes and basic courses.

Who are the courses for – beginners, hobby dancers or professionals?

- There is a nice sentence by Merce Cunningham: “You have to love the dance to stick to it. It doesn’t give you anything for free – except those moments where you feel the living in you“. That is just my view as well. We are interested in all kind of dancers who are eager to dance… who have a desire.

Which styles are going to be taught?

- Our dancing styles start with jazz, modern, musical and ballet and move over hip hop newschool /oldschool, funky jazz to ladysalsa, afro and oriental dance to give students the possibilities to try different styles. We’d love to offer courses as well that train the dancer’s finess like yoga, dancers workout, floorbarre, girotonic and technique courses. We are educational structured and, at least so I hope, there will be many „allround talents” in our rooms. I am sooo looking forward to it!

Will StagePoolers receive some kind of discount?

- As Stagepooler you will get “professional status” and you will only pay the professional prize.

As soon as MADCITY is opened – have you then achieved everything in life you ever wanted for yourself? Or is there still more you want to reach for?

- Mhm… well I think when MADCITY is opened another step is done. But then the action will start. I have always enough ideas and I am a person who loves to go for my goals… I love to implement creativity and I have the feeling that MADCITY will be the right place for it. The future will be stressful but that is just perfect. There is always something to be done and that is probably something that will never stop…

We definitely hope that MADCITY will be successful – also seen in an economic way. Tell us how things go!

- Thank you very much. I definitely will. http://en.stagepool.com/spotlight_on/2211/julie_pecquet http://en.stagepool.com/spotlight_on/2211/julie_pecquet Julie Pecquet Julie Pecquet is one of those all-round talents who archieve anything… Many people were able to notice her as a performing artist or adored one of her choreographies. Fri, 24 Oct 2008 00:00:00 +0200 2011-09-22T09:16:11+02:00 Could you describe the beginning of your career… How did everything start?
I started to dance when I was 5 years old. My father was an all-rounder: Performer, musician, choreographer, photographer, dancer, philosopher… it was because of him that I became interested in the arts and the rhythm (he was a drummer as well)… From then on I always danced – even water ballet for a couple years. We moved almost every year so I visited many different dancing schools. But during the holidays I took classes and went to workshops from people who are still famous dance coaches today in France
(Bruno Vandelli for jazz, Dominique Lesdema for hip hop, Bruno Agati for modern). Also I started playing the piano when I was 6, but only for five years, sadly. Besides I took part in several little theatre groups.

You are a very talented in many ways. Dancer, songwriter, choreographer, coach, actress – in which area are you most comfortable or are all parts equal to you?

Since I was educated many-sided, I love all of them and I need all of them… but I have to say that I love choreographing most since I can use all of my creativity and bring together all of my artistic influences. I am loving my work with my troop “circa del arte” (www.circadelarte.com). We are a group of young artists; circus artists, dancers, musicians, singers and make-up artists (something like Cirque du Soleil but with more dancing). When I get a project like a gala, a mess or an award show with a special theme, I am happy to think about the implementation. You could say I am a stage director as well :-)
Furthermore I love acting. There I can leave from my own life and at the same time I can use my emotional experiences. I love to act and to immerse into different characters. But sadly I don’t have enough time for that and many people don’t know that I act as well. People like to “think in drawers”: a choreographer can not be an actress. Only in the USA the multi-talent-possibility is acknowledged.

We were able to watch you lately as a member of the jury in „You can dance“ on Sat.1 in Germany. There we were able to admire your unbelievable choreographies… What did “You can dance” mean to you? Will there be another season?

„You can dance“ combines this diversity of dancing. I was finally able to prove that one can choreograph hip hop, modern, jazz as well as crumpling. And that I have the ability to judge through the many years of coaching and dancing. “You can dance” allowed me to prove my competence as well as my conviction about the all-round dancer. A dancer has to be proficient in many different styles. Maybe there will be a second season.

Which job do you still remember the most? Where did you learn the most? Which was the hardest project in your life?

All projcts I ever did. It might sound cheesy – but that’s how it is. As a dancer I loved not to feel the pressure as a choreographer does… I loved to see how others worked… as a choreographer I loved to make everything perfect to polish everything… an eye for the accomplished creation and its development… as a coach and teacher I loved to watch the progress of my students… as an actress I loved the emotional discovery you have to do…
Each job is different: a different team, a different place; I did so many different things and I love it :-)
Some of my favourite projects:
On TV: „You can dance“ and „The German Voice“ and in the theater: „Carmen 2000“ and „Antonius and Cleopatra“…

My toughest project ever? In „Carmen 2000“ I had to cover the clown, the main part for a couple hours. He was on stage the whole two hours, no act went on without him, mute, only facial expressions and movements. There were solists from the Metropolitan, New York, and the conductor was worldwide known. I had never felt so much pressure before!

How do you see your future career? In which area do you want to be more active?

In future I want to work more intensively as an actress in movies. Many years I spent coaching others to become better in front of the camera, no matter if they were singers, dancers or actors (some of them wanted to get a better feeling of their bodies). In doing this I neglected to perform myself. I do not dance that much anymore but I would love to let off as an actress… I am a very extreme person who experienced a lot of good and bad things. I know the exchange of emotions and I also master the play in front of a camera in all disciplines – the ability to act emotional situations at the push of a button as well as to act everyday situations… I love it!

It demands sensibility, spontaneity and also the ability to reproduce the imaginations of the director. I practiced all of it the last years – in a different area. You can find tactfulness, attention, the impulse to extreme situations (could be tender as well, not only aggressive) and hard work in both arts: dancing and acting.

What were your reasons for becoming a StagePool-member? What do you think about Stagepool?

I registered to StagePool to hear what happens in the artists-scene. I signed on as an actress since I am known better as choreographer and coach. I think this portal is super and extremely important. The success, the expansion with a new area (backstage), new clients and job offers all over the world is not surprising. StagePool closes a gap which is essential for us artists: To know where people look for what…

At last: Julie Livia Piroska Liza Pecquet – a very long and exceptional name. Is this your name at birth or a stage name?

This is not a stage name. In fact „Grichka“ is missing, a young Russian name. But in France you may only have four first names. I had creative parents…

Thanks a lot for the interview, Julie. Good luck to you!!

Thank you for your interest!

More about Julie: Visit www.juliepecquet.com.
