The profession responsible for the structural organization of the action in a ballet
The job of ballet dramaturges is to make the story of a ballet exciting and compelling by building it structurally using a variety of techniques. If the purpose of the ballet is to convey a certain message, the ballet dramaturg is responsible for achieving that.
Dramaturgy is often a lengthy process and requires a passionate interest in dance and acting. Dramaturgs do not need to have a dance background, but do need professional experience or adequate training in dramaturgy.
