Archivist

Archivists manages all media related to a film production.

Film archivist

What is the job of an archivist?

Archivists in film and television production are responsible for maintaining, organizing, listing, and storing the archival inventory of film and sound recordings, such as film reels and digital files. The archivist may also manage a film's media assets, such as sound, music, scripts, storyboards, photos, and the like. In some cases, archiving may also include a film's props, studio equipment, costumes, and sets. The archivist is responsible for preserving and archiving footage after filming, both for posterity and for post-production. This can involve many thousands of items in a single production. An archivist should therefore be systematic and have a sense of order and detail, not unlike a librarian.
