Ballet directors, also called ballet managers, are responsible for an independent ballet company or ballet department of an opera house.
Ballet directors are financially responsible for the operation of the ballet and sometimes artistically responsible for the program. Ballet directors hire ballet teachers, managers, masters, dramaturgs, choreographers, and dancers for the company.
